Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 55 billion through two issues on Thursday, 2 May 2024.
The first offering stood at EGP 30 billion and will mature in 91 days on 6 August this year, according to official data.
Meanwhile, the second auction was valued at EGP 25 billion and holds a tenor of 273 days until 4 February 2025.
The CBE also unveiled zero-coupon treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a value of EGP 5 billion through one issue, which carries a 546-day maturity period until 4 November next year.
The central bank recently issued T-bills and T-bonds at a total value of EGP 49 billion over three auctions.
